The Time Machine

At the Castle Museum, we have designed all programs to meet MI grade-level standards.

Best of all, our educators will come to you in our Time Machine!

Programs are offered to classes from grades Kindergarten through 5th grade.

Timber! Discover how Saginaw became the lumber capital of the world!  Students learn all about lumbering in the Saginaw Valley during the late 1800s boom period.   This program includes hands-on activities.   Recommended for: 3rd-4th Grades
Oh, So Dark. Dig into the history of Saginaw County's mining operations!   Students learn about Saginaw County's coal field and the mining operations that centered around it in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.   This program includes hands-on activities.   Recommended for: 3rd-4th Grades

What's Found Underground? What can firsthand investigations with artifacts and objects found in the ground tell us?   Students learn about archaeology and what discoveries archaeologists make that help us better understand the past.   This program includes hands-on activities.   Recommended for: K-5th Grades

Book The Time Machine!

The Time Machine is a FREE program offered to schools within Saginaw County.

 

School districts outside of Saginaw County are welcome to host the program for $50 per classroom and round trip mileage of $1 per mile
