Field Trips
The Castle Museum offers students a great place to learn about Saginaw's rich history. They can experience firsthand what the area was like hundreds of years ago through artifacts in our archaeology exhibit and the lumberjacks who invested in the vastly wooded region. Students will learn how this great city transformed from being the "lumber capital of the world" to an automotive manufacturing industry when they view three floors of amazing displays and exhibits.
It is easy to bring your students here! Most of our tours generally last from one to two hours. To help bring history to life we offer educational activities to enhance the exhibit experience. We are able to focus the tour based on your classroom’s needs and study requirements. You will find the Michigan Benchmarks and Standards for our exhibits here.
Our tours are reasonably priced:
-
A guided tour is $2.00 per student
-
A guided tour with an activity is $3.00 per student
-
Teachers and chaperones are always free
We ask that tours be scheduled a minimum of two weeks in advance.
NOTE FOR BUS DRIVERS: It is easiest to pull busses alongside the sidewalks at the front of the building on Federal Ave. Students can disembark and come to the main entrance. If anyone is in need of a ramp, that will need to be accessed from our back entrance through the parking lot off Warren Ave.
Scout Tours
Boy and Girl Scouts are always welcome to explore the Castle Museum. While some Museum exhibits may fit your badge requirements, we will do our best to tailor our guided tour to meet your specific scouting requirements, schedule and age group.
Scout leaders are encouraged to call and schedule an adventure into the past.
Arrange a guided tour and bring your troop along.
